In the last few months, the team at Alexander Knight & Co has been preparing for this year’s Altrincham 10k run. On Sunday 7th September, eight of us put our training to the test and joined thousands of other locals on the run – and we couldn’t be prouder of how we did!

We were incredibly proud to represent Alexander Knight & Co at this year’s Altrincham 10k – a fantastic opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local community and be part of an initiative that truly showcases Altrincham in all its glory!

The journey to race day was both demanding and rewarding. A mixture of newbies and seasoned runners, the team leaned on each other for encouragement, motivation, and were driven by a shared sense of purpose as the race day loomed.

And what a day it was! We were relieved to be running on a sunny morning in advance of the heavy rain that followed all afternoon.

Accountants in Altrincham – proud to run our local 10k!

Smartly dressed in our fresh Alexander Knight & Co branded running tops, we were raring to go at the starting line near Altrincham Hospital.

The route took us up the Downs, into Bowdon and Hale, past some of our favourite coffee shops, then along the main road – even running past our very own Hale Road office, with family and friends stationed there to power us on through the rest of the race.

At the halfway point we found ourselves in the country lanes of Hale Barns and then we ended the race back in the town centre to be greeted by the warm support and applause of Altrincham residents.

Murray Patt, founder of Alexander Knight & Co, reflected:

“That race was incredibly challenging, pushing each of us to our limits. But I’m hugely proud of the team for demonstrating that their abilities stretch beyond the confines of the office! It was a memorable day that we will treasure for a long time. Crossing that finish line says everything about who we are as a team – we’re committed, determined and we throw ourselves into every challenge.”

And what’s more, to commemorate our achievements, the team have chosen to make two charitable donations – to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) and the LGBT Foundation – both worthy and inspiring causes.

At Alexander Knight & Co, we pride ourselves on being a team that goes the extra mile – and this year, we mean that quite literally. Our team is officially in training for the Altrincham 10k, which takes place later in 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited to take part in this fantastic community event.

The Altrincham 10k is known for its scenic route, welcoming atmosphere, and the way it brings together people of all ages and abilities to celebrate health, fitness, and local spirit. For us, it’s the perfect opportunity to challenge ourselves physically, strengthen team bonds, and support a good cause while representing our firm in the local community.

Our training has already begun, and as you can see from the photo, team spirit is running high (pun fully intended). Whether we’re out on the streets near our office, hitting local running trails, or squeezing in a treadmill session after work, each of us is committed to getting fitter, faster, and ready for race day.

For some members of the team, this will be their first-ever 10k, while others are seasoned runners aiming for personal bests. The variety of experience levels has made training all the more interesting – from swapping tips on pacing and breathing to sharing playlists that keep us motivated during those tougher runs.

Between now and race day, we’ll be steadily increasing our mileage, working on our endurance, and fine-tuning our strategies. And yes – we’ll also be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast in the hope of those perfect, cool-but-sunny running conditions.

Murray Patt, founder of Alexander Knight & Co, said:

“I’m really proud of the team for embracing this challenge. The Altrincham 10k is a brilliant event that reflects the spirit of our town, and it’s fantastic to see our people committing to something that’s not only good for their health but also great for team spirit.”

We’re proud to be part of an event that showcases Altrincham at its best and can’t wait to line up at the start alongside hundreds of other runners. Keep an eye on our blog and social media channels for updates as we count down to the big day – and if you see us out training, give us a wave!

See you at the finish line.

We’re proud to have completed the Altrincham 10k run and joined thousands of fellow runners on the closed roads of Altrincham on 5th September 2021.

Starting and finishing in the centre of Altrincham it was a popular event and raised thousands of pounds for charity from everybody taking part.

The Altrincham 10k was open to runners of all abilities and each mile was accurately marked out with distance flags and there were plenty of supporters along the course to encourage runners all the way to the finish line.

Thank you to everyone who supported us!
