Our approach to ESG

ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. ESG objectives help businesses and organisations contribute to achieving the UN’s goals.

In 2015, the UN member states committed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 15-year plan aims to galvanise urgent action to improve the lives of global citizens and safeguard our planet. The plan is based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals, shown below.

Alexander Knight & Co Becomes First UK Accountancy Firm to Achieve ESGmark® Accreditation

We are delighted to have become the first accountancy firm in the UK to attain the prestigious ESGmark® which independently demonstrates our commitment to ESG principles. ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. It considers the sustainability and ethical impact of a company in relation to its employees, customers and community.

Alexander Knight & Co has undertaken a rigorous process to evidence its working practices and outlined a sustainable plan for the future. As a result, we have become the first accountancy practice in the UK to be accredited with the ESGmark®

One small thing we’ve done is to install a bug hotel at our local train station in Hale – a small addition, but one that helps support biodiversity and gives insects a safe place to thrive. 🪲 🐛 🐞

It’s easy to overlook how important these tiny ecosystems are, but pollinators play a vital role in the health of our environment.

If we can do our bit to support them, even in a small way, it feels worthwhile. 🌍
